Torun Transport – Airport

There is an airport just on the outskirts of Toruń, but it’s not currently used for commercial flights, although the matter has been much discussed over the years. The airport was first constructed between 1912 and 1913, with expansions in the 1930s and 1940s. It was used for military purposes during the Second World War, but was mostly destroyed by the Germans just before they left the city.

The nearest major airport for visitors to the city is Bydgoszcz Airport, which primarily has flights operated by Ryanair and LOT Polish Airlines. Destinations served by the airlines include Birmingham, Dublin, Edinburgh, Kiev, London Luton, London Stansted and Warsaw. Further information about the airport is available at their official site at https://www.plb.pl/. There are train services between Bydgoszcz and Toruń, along with coaches operated by companies such as Flixbus.

Other airport options, which are all connected by rail and coach routes, are Gdansk, Warsaw and Poznan.
