This is one of the best reviewed museums in the city and it’s also one of the most innovative in terms of its design. A visit starts on the ground floor with an interactive gingerbread making session, where visitors can make dough themselves and watch their creations be cooked off in their traditionally made wooden moulds. The second part of the visit is on the first floor of the museum, where there’s an original nineteenth century manufacturing area which was established by the Rabiański siblings.
There’s a chance to decorate gingerbread at the end of the visit, although for health and safety reasons visitors don’t get to decorate the dough that they placed in the moulds. Although the food is edible, the museum does state that it’s intended to be a souvenir of a visit only.
The interactive experience lasts for 75 minutes and is available in numerous languages, with the English option running at 14.00. A visit to the entire location is likely to take around two hours and the staff here are knowledgeable and keen to engage with visitors. There’s a fun feel to the experience and children usually find it a positive, fun and educational visit.
There is an admission charge of 24zl for adults, 21zl for concessions and 19zl for children. The attraction is open from 10.00 until 18.00 every day of the week.
